"Sin Una Despedida"
I had the honor of composing this piece as a commission by The Sunday Night Singers for their Our American Story – “Aquí Estamos” set, featured at the 2024 Western ACDA Conference.
This work is inspired by the story of a dear friend and her family, who experienced the heartbreaking separation from her father at a young age due to deportation. "Sin Una Despedida" reflects the emotional weight and resilience found within the immigrant experience in the United States—a tribute to those who carry on without the chance to say goodbye.
